Austin ISD 2022 Bond Program

Austin ISD has called for a bond for the Nov 8, 2022, election that would fund critical repairs across the district, upgrades to safety and security 25 school modernizations and additional upgrades to technology, transportation and athletics.

This is a 2.44 billion Bond Package with three propositions:

  • Proposition A: General Purpose $2.23 Billion

  • Proposition B: Technology $75.54 million

  • Proposition C: Stadiums and Athletic Complexes $47.43 million


  • Will cost a homeowner of a $ 650,000 an extra $4.54 per month in property tax if all three propositions were approved

  • This bond will fund security upgrades at every Austin ISD school, will enable district wide improvement, modernize 25 aging school facilities through full or phased renovations.

  • Security is one of the main focuses of the bond. The plan includes buildling security vestibules - two sets of doora that require a staff member to allow entry ( 29.5 million for 84 schools)

  • Enables district wide improvements, including providing every bus with A/C

  • The price tag for the bond package, the largest in AISD's history, would be a $0.01 property tax rate increase

  • Austin ISD anticipates lowering school tax rate by 9.5 cents over 2 years.

  • 100% of the bond dollars will stay in Austin. These funds are not subject to recapture.
